The trailer is finally up for the short I've been working on for the last 6-7 months. It's called "The Trip" and will be shown at the Alhambra Youth Film Festival. This film was grueling at times to shoot just because there was a lot of planning that went into it. The editing was pretty intense too. I don't think I would do another one of these unless I had a lot more resources and help in terms of the production and planning aspect. With that being said, I'm already planning my next short for next year. Last night, I just got confirmation on the cast members to commit to the project. The two guys have already worked with me. The girl is new to the whole world of filmmaking so she might be a bit fresh on the lingo. But the most important thing I look for in the actor besides the acting is the commitment. She will definitely do a wonderful job. The cast is pretty photogenic so that's a plus.
I have the idea and story already. Now it's down to writing out the script and flushing out the story. Refinement is crazy hard. But I'm pretty excited to start on it. I'll probably spend a few months writing the 8 page script and then a few more months doing concept sketches, storyboards and location scouting. All in a year's work. I'll reveal the title of the short pretty soon.
