Macross 30th Anniversary

I can't believe it's been 30 years since Macross first debuted. That series/movie has defined my childhood love for animation and character design. In commemoration, I will embarrass myself and attempt a rendition of one of my all-time favorite anime character, Minmay (or Minmei). Sorry Mr. Mikimoto. I didn't mean to butcher one of your most beloved creation. Here it is.

L.A. Zoo 5/26/12

I found an interesting animal which I've never seen before at the L.A. Zoo...the maned wolf. What an awesome animal that has almost an unlimited amount of energy. It moves around quite a bit. I called it the energizer bunny of the canine family. The wonderful thing about it is that it looks like an over-sized red fox with extremely long legs...almost disproportionate to its body. Loved every moment of my drawing session with this animal. Even saw it munching on a dead bird given to it by its animal trainer.

Cafe/church sketches

Please excuse the poor sketches. I had some free time so I broke out my sketchbook. Went over it in photoshop for some shading. My tablet driver is not working for Windows 7 so I had to do it with a mouse. It's like drawing with a bar of soap.

Zoo on Labor Day (9.5.11)

It was quite hot that day so it was very uncomfortable to draw in the heat. I only did a page but spent most of the time there hanging with good friends. Sorry for the bad sketches.
